C.B.S Community Childcare Trust After School Care Programme Welcome Parents and Caregivers The Trust was set up in April 1991 to provide quality child care for children whose parents work full-time, or for other reasons need after school care during weekdays on a permanent or casual basis. The Trust is self funding, relying entirely on the parents using the scheme to meet the full costs of the programme, as it is not eligible for any subsidies. Attendance The programme is open to Cockle Bay School children only. We cater for children on both a permanent and casual basis during the school term. Our aim is to provide a safe, happy environment so that children will enjoy opportunities for stimulating and creative activities. Enrolment Forms Parents whose children attend the programme must complete the enrolment form. An enrolment must be completed five days prior to commencement. For further information and bookings please phone 027 247 9166 Daily Routine The following is the basic routine set by the Trustees for the After School Care Programme: 2.45 – 3.00 The coordinator to set up biscuits and drinks for the children attending the programme 3.00 – 3.15 Children arrive, place bags in designated area. Children to sit down to have afternoon tea. Register checked and children marked off. 3.15 – 4.00 Supervised free time 4.00 – 4.30 Homework or quiet time. Some structured activities may be organised 4.30 – Close Supervised free time if homework is completed Hours and Fees Operating hours are 3.00pm – 5.30pm There is a flat charge for the first hour of $5.00 then, charges are made for each quarter of an hour as follows: $5.00 per hour + GST for one child $4.50 per hour + GST for two children $4.00 per hour + GST for three children After 5.30pm there is a late fee of $5.00 + GST per day An account will be sent home with your child the Tuesday following the week your child attended the programme. Unless prior arrangement is made the account is 7 days. Payment may be made at the school office or direct to the supervisor. Please ensure you receive a receipt if you are paying by cash. Cheques are to made out to CBS Community Child Care Trust Receipts are issued at the end of the financial year. Absences Any absences for children booked into the aftercare programme must be advised to the supervisor by 10.00am on the morning of the absence. Failure to advise by 10.00am will incur a $5.00 fee. Rules The school rules apply to the After School Care Programme and a list of unacceptable behaviour is listed below. Please discuss these with your child. Occasionally some children may have difficulties in settling into the programme and have become a disruptive element. The Trustees have the right after due consideration with the parents to request the removal of any child from the programme. If your child displays unacceptable behaviour, a letter will be sent home. After three of these letters your child will be asked to leave After Care. However, in cases of serious misbehaviour, termination of attendance may be immediate. The following behaviour is not acceptable from children attending the After School Care Programme. • Fighting • Swearing • Not obeying the instructions of the supervisors • Throwing items outside the Multi Purpose Room • Climbing or sitting on tables, furniture or window sills • Leaving the school grounds. All children must be signed out when leaving, by the parent or guardian • Children must not leave the Multi Purpose Room or activity without the permission of the supervisor ( e.g. to go to the toilet) • Throwing bark • Playing in areas of the school which are out of bounds • Out of bounds areas are clearly shown on the map hanging up in the aftercare room.
