The school would like to thank our hard-working PTN team for providing the funds for us to purchase a new Automated External Defibrillator (also known as an AED or defib) which will be located in a highly visible position in the school office. It is important to note that the unit itself has an automatic voice prompt that will guide the user step by step through the process, so even if you have not been trained on how to use a unit, you can just listen to the machine and still save a life! Research has shown that using a defib within 3-5 minutes of a person going into cardiac arrest increases their chances of survival by 40 percent. So thank you again PTN for facilitating the purchase of this great asset for our Cockle Bay community and ensuring a safer workplace for our staff.
