A Sunshine Online licence has been purchased by Cockle Bay School so all students can access this great reading and writing resource form home and school. At a school meeting last week, this site was demonstrated to parents. Contact the classroom teacher for the username and password so your child can enjoy the benefits.

There are animations and interactive digital content for both literacy and early numeracy. The content supports the National Curriculum.
For support with reading there are voice overs and links to video clips to engage and motivate students.
Sunshine Online has three distinct Learning Spaces for Emergent, Early and Fluent readers. The spaces are further divided into literacy, alphabet, words, phonics and numeracy. At the fluent level, the interactive activities explore the texts with a greater focus on comprehension, grammar, spelling and writing fluency.

Emergent and Early levels relate to the colour wheel in front of the children's reading diaries. It is always wise to let the children enjoy their reading at the colour level below their instructional level. At home, their reading should be enjoyable not a chore!  Emergent levels relate to pink and red, Early to yellow, blue, green and orange and are colour coded within the learning space. Fluent levels are turquoise, purple and gold and also include texts above this at 8 -10 reading age.
