On the 1st August 2007 28 million scouts worldwide were asked to renew their scout promise at a dawn event called 'Scouting Sunrise'. Carl S took this promise early this morning at a dawn ceremony.

Jessica B: What Club do you belong to?
Carl: Cockle Bay Cubs.
Sarah A: Why did you come to school late?
Carl: Because we were celebrating cubs 100th year and renewing our promises.
Jessica: How many cubs are there in the world?
Carl:  There are twenty eight million.
Sarah: What are your badges for?
Carl: Swimming Stage One and Stage Three, Sports, Artist, Computer and home help.
Jessica: How long have you been doing cubs?
Carl: For one and a half years.
Sarah: Do you think you will be doing it next year?
Carl: No, I will be a 'Scout'.
Jessica: What is the difference between Cubs and Scouts?
Carl: To be a Cub you have to be between the ages of eight to ten and a half years. To be a Scout you have to be between the ages of ten and a half to fourteen years.
