Cockle Bay School: 0 Willowbank: 2 On Thurday 27th July the day of the game was cloudy, but the few clouds didn't put off Willowbank and Cockle Bay soccer teams. At 12:30pm the game started, and both teams were determined to win. Some spectacular headers and kicks came from both teams, which lasted through the whole game. The first goal was by Willowbank, which was nearly saved by Andrew R, the goalkeeper. Throughout the game, there were many throw-ins and corners from both teams. The second goal was also by Willowbank, this time in the second half. Both teams played very well. The ball tended to stay in Cockle Bay’s half of the field, giving our goalkeeper and defenders; Andrew R, Kale K, George F, Finlay B and Christian L, lots of work. Both teams put on a lot of pressure to get the ball to the other half of the field. After forty minutes of soccer everyone was tired but they had enjoyed the experience. Willowbank won by two goals. Here are two interviews with Trent T (captain) and Matthew D (midfielder) Reporters: What did you think about the game, Trent? Trent : There weren’t enough regular players because of injury and we didn’t get the ball out wide enough. Reporters: What was your best moment? Trent : When I went through all the defenders and nearly scored a goal. Reporters: What did you think about the game, Matthew? Matthew : It wasn’t so great for us, and we could have played better. Reporters: What was your best moment? Matthew: When I tackled this guy and won the ball. A great, well played game by everyone in both teams.
