Towards the end of term the school will offer conferences and provide progress reports on learning. CBS has an open door policy which means you are welcome to contact us at any time if you feel the need. For informal quick chats you can see teachers before or after school. For quality meeting time please make an appointment with class teachers. The team leaders, senior leadership team and I can also be available as needed.

Thanks for sending your children to school looking so smart in correct school uniform, either winter or summer until Queen's Birthday weekend. Please name fleecies in particular as children take them off during the day when it gets hot, and our found property box is getting full.

Waipaparoa Community of Learners (CoL)

The Ministry of Education is encouraging schools to work together collaboratively to raise student achievement. Cockle Bay School is one of seven schools which belong to the Waipaparoa Community of Learners (CoL). Other schools in the CoL are Howick College, Sommerville Intermediate, Botany Downs Secondary College, Point View Primary, Shelly Park School and Willowbank Primary. The principals of each school are meeting regularly to establish our Community of Learning. 2017 will be focused on protocols and practices, developing links between school boards, attaining ministerial sign off of our achievement challenges and making appointments to various leadership positions. This will see us in a position to begin collective work on the achievement challenges in 2018. We will keep you updated about developments.
