At approximately six o'clock on Thursday 23rd August 2007, Mrs. Davies came to my house to take me to the Mandarin Speech Competition at Sunny Hills School. On the way, Mrs Davies and I went to pick up Mr Rao. I became more and more nervous as I saw the other contestants come in to the library, where the finals were being held. All together there were eleven contestants. Before going in I chose a card, which contained my order number. I was to be the third person to present my speech. When it was my turn I stepped onto the stage and even though my legs were shaking I read my speech in Mandarin, glancing occasionally at my cards.
This is me waiting nervously before the speeches. In the second picture I was being presented with a participation certificate from the Chinese Consulate General, Mr Tom Gao. Here I am with my proud parents.
