Cockle Bay Community
After School Care
Enrolment Policy

Rationale:

The use of the Cockle Bay Community After School Care programme is for children who attend Cockle Bay School and is at the discretion of the management and trustees of the programme.

Acceptance into the After School Care programme is subject to certain criteria as follows:

Criteria for Acceptance:

1.    All application forms must be completed for all new enrolments and submitted to the supervisor of the After School Care programme at least 5 working days before the anticipated start date.

2.    Subject to availability of a place (based on 1:10 staff/children ratio) all applications will be accepted, with the following conditions:

I.    Parents and caregivers must be willing to accept and abide by the conditions contained in the application form including such matters as acceptable behaviour, hours of attendance and payment provisions

II.    The child must be currently attending Cockle Bay School

III.    Any pre-existing medical conditions or other factors likely to affect the operation of the programme must be disclosed prior to enrolment, including such things as:
•    The need to vary the normal 1:10 staff/children ratio so as to allow for effective supervision
•    The administration of specialist medication or care
•    The management of an existing behaviour management plan
•    Any other condition or circumstance which might affect the health, safety or welfare of staff or other children

3.    The final decision as to the acceptance of any child in the programme rests with the Trustees of the Cockle Bay Community Childcare Trust.
