National Young Leaders Day

Thursday 14th May

About the National Young Leaders Days

Leaders are often made, not simply born. We are dedicated to sparking the leadership potential that’s inside every young person through practical, inspirational events and leadership resources.

The National Young Leaders Days (NYLD) are the largest and longest running leadership event for primary and intermediate school students. These large scale annual events aim to develop student leadership. Since 2001, more than 135,000 students have been empowered to fulfill their dreams and become great leaders at a National Young Leaders Day in Aotearoa.

The objectives of NYLD are

  • Inspiration
  • Connection
  • Student empowerment
  • Promoting positivity
  • Motivation
  • Education

Every year, thousands of the Aotearoa’s students and their teachers attend a National Young Leaders Day. Schools select students who demonstrate leadership potential and qualities to attend NYLD. Some schools send their top student leaders such as student councillors, sports leaders, peer mediators, captains, vice-captains. The event programme will benefit any student who demonstrates a willingness to develop their leadership skills. Year 1 Kea – Music Al Musical Instrument Show at CBS

Wednesday 22nd July All Classes

MusicAl Limited was set up in 2003 to foster music education in schools.

MusicAl Limited originally started supplying schools with affordable musical instrument and resources to help teachers deliver a balanced music programme to students.

Towards the end of 2003 we created our first music show for schools, based on teaching students the instruments of the orchestra in a fun interactive show.
Over the next few years, we developed the Musical Instrument Making Show and the Music Style Show.

All our shows have been extremely popular.

By far the most requested show has been the Musical Instrument Making Show as it meets objectives in the Music, Science and Technology

curriculums so after a break of several years working on other projects we have brought it back in 2023.

MusicAl Limited is dedicated to introducing student to music, and how instruments make their sounds.

It is our aim to spark a musical interest in the students we work with, in the hope they may pursue music as an interest or even a profession.
